CLYDE VALENTíN

Clyde Valentín is an experienced creative producer & director with a demonstrated history of working in the entertainment, non-profit and higher education sectors. He is originally from Sunset Park, Brooklyn. He has a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts focused in English and Sociology from State University of New York at Binghamton. Before becoming the inaugural director at Ignite Arts Dallas, Valentín was the former executive director of the New York City-based Hi-ARTS (formerly known as the Hip-Hop Theater Festival). Valentín is a Fellow of the National Arts Strategies Community and Culture Chief Executive Program and a former Fellow at the DeVos Institute for Arts Management. He serves on the Art Advisory Board for the Times Square Alliance, is a former board member for the Theatre Communications Group, is an advisor for the New England Foundation for the Arts National Theater Project and is an inaugural member of the Steering Committee for the Latinx Theater Commons. He also advises on leadership development for nonprofit leaders with the Association for Performing Arts Presenters.

Minerva Rodriguez

Founder and CEO of MRR & Associates and former chairperson for the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Minerva Rodriguez is a vital and influential voice for the Hispanic community in the DFW. She has led the outreach and communications efforts to minority communities for several citywide and regional projects. Through MRR & Associates, Rodriguez specializes in public relations, governmental affairs, communications, event planning, and community outreach. She has led the Hispanic outreach efforts for Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings’ campaign and advises him in matters pertaining to the Hispanic community. As chairperson for the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in 1997, Rodriguez developed programs for small business development and established good faith agreements with the American Airlines Arena Group and the City of Dallas for minority contracting.
