Upcoming Community Events
Driven by the #metoo and #timesup social media movements whose message has recently become increasingly widespread in response to accusations and evidence citing misconduct from powerful men across many industries, Cara Mía Theatre Co. and Human Rights Initiative seek to continue to the conversation with a forum series titled: Women Speak, Men Listen.
By providing a platform specifically to hear and honor women’s voices, all are encouraged to participate in a renewed step where women inform men what they need to know, understand, and act upon. Women Speak, Men Listen is part one of a series of forums and workshops that plan to take actionable steps towards equity and justice for women in our society. Working in full accord with Ignite Arts Dallas, the Latino Cultural Center, the Oak Cliff Cultural Center, Pan African Connection, and White Rock United Methodist Church, Cara Mía Theatre Co. and Human Rights Initiative seek to advance the conversation and help foster a new pattern of living. Free and open to the public.
